Groundbreaking ceremony for the Renewable Gasfield project

The official groundbreaking ceremony for the implementation of the Renewable Gasfield project took place in the municipality of Gabersdorf on Friday 08.04.2022. With this investment by Energie Steiermark, an important milestone was reached in the implementation of this lighthouse project for Styria. The plant is expected to start regular operation at the end of the year. The first regional customer for the green hydrogen produced was found in the industrial company Wolfram Bergbau und Hütten AG – a subsidiary of the globally active Sandvik Group. The company is based in St. Martin and will purchase around 70 tonnes of green hydrogen annually for its processes starting from 2023. (Photo credit: Energie Steiermark)
